Overview

Books are the only friends that a person ever has. And where else to find books than a Library. Library is the real source of information that is ever available to any student at any point of time. But, what is the use of a library which has books that belong to the olden times and the technologies mentioned in the books are obsolete to what are being used today? In order to prevent any such mishaps from occurring at VIT, VIT has founded its very own Library Committee, which looks into the maintenance of the library. This committee has been founded with the main aim of representing the students and the faculties need for books and taking appropriate steps in obtaining the same. The committee aims at maintain the up keep of the library by populating the same with all the latest journals, magazines, books and papers that can be referred to by the students and the faculty members of VIT.

Goals

VIT has been continuously enhancing and updating its well-equipped Library as it is one of the key learning resources which assists students in fulfilling their information requirements and helps its faculty in supplementing class-room lectures.

The purpose of the Library Committee is to act as a channel of communication between the Institute Library and its users. It shall assist in developing operational procedures, suggest various measures for improvement and development of the library resources and formulate both personnel and fiscal policies. It shall strive to inculcate the enriching habit of reading books in a technologically enabled and intellectual atmosphere.
