Overview

The Industry- Institute Interaction Committee is a student initiative which acts as a bridge between industries and the institute. It seeks to provide the industry with quality solutions from time to time and developing projects that cater to their needs. The faculty also avails support from our members for their research.

Goals

VIT has established linkages with several industries and institutes of higher learning to facilitate its students to have better industrial exposure. The Institute believes in nurturing an active interface to provide industrial training on live projects to its students. The Industry Institute Interaction Committee shall work towards designing an engineering curriculum which prepares students for jobs in multinational companies, by exposing them to the newest technologies and practical methodologies by way of strategic collaborations with industries. The key goal is to achieve a symbiotic blend of academic and industry to enhance placement opportunities.

Scope

The following are the scopes that the committee aims to acomplish in every academic year:

• Establishing live ties with Industry to enhance student employability
• Getting feedback of the experts of Industry for graduating students and subsequently equipping students with industry-oriented requirements
• Forecasting Industry Requirements
• Giving inputs to Short Term Technical Courses, Workshops
• Arranging joint research programmes and field studies by faculty and people from industries
• Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute and industries
• Coordinating B.E. and M.E. projects under the joint guidance of the faculty and experts from industry.
• Forming a close nexus with the Placement cell
• Short Term Training in technical skills and soft skills for faculty/non-teaching staff
• Getting Testing and Consultancy Assignments
• Creation of Industrial Chair

Activities

• Conducting comprehensive Industrial Visits
• Organizing seminars and guest lectures by experts and eminent industrialists to increase awareness on the latest technological developments
