Overview

The real glory for any institute is when its past alumni re-visit their former ALMA MATER. In today’s world it is next to impossible for the institution that has catered its each and every student for 4 very special years to re-communicate with its past pupils. VIT tires to shun this drawback of lack of communication with its past students by founding its very own Alumni Committee. The VIT Alumni Committee has been founded by the professors for the past students of this institution.

Goals

The goodwill and glory earned by an Institute depend to a great extent on the achievements and reputation of its alumni. In recognition of this fact, VIT’s Alumni Association aims to foster interactions and reinforce the bonds between alumni and the Institute through activities, programs and services to nurture mutually beneficial relationships. It makes the Institute proud to know that its alumni are successful in their lifes and careers by dint of their endeavors.
The Alumni Committee establishes contact with alumni who are committed to promoting the welfare of their alma mater, supporting its traditions and goals and enhancing the Institute’s fame locally and globally. It shall coordinate meets to perpetuate friendships formed in collegiate years and organize programs that instill a sense of belonging and pride in the alumni.

Scope

The following are the scopes that the committee aims to acomplish in every academic year:

• Maintain and regularly update database of all the graduating students
• Print annual Directory and mail to all students
• Maintain e–mail/SMS contact to greet alumni on birthdays, intimate about meets, college events, conferences etc.
• Identify special achievements by alumni and arrange for felicitation
• Enhance alumni involvement in college activities by receiving inputs
• Communicate that the college infrastructural facilities (Library/ Sports/Conference Halls/ Canteen etc.) are available to alumni
• Organize frequent Seminars to promote alumni involvement in Placement, Career Counseling, Teaching Pedagogy, Guest Lectures, Projects, Endowments etc.
• Explore and implement the efforts put in by other national/international institutes to develop alumni associations
• Collect feedback from alumni
